I'm on a roll now!

Three times in one day I've posted stuff! I deserve an award! We had our family pictures taken in July....so what the heck! I think I'll post some of them too!
So I'm not a real competent blogger....the pictures start at the cemetery, and end with the ride to the cemetery.....one day maybe I'll have a handle on this blogging thing....then again....maybe not!

I'm so not a blogger.....

If I was actually getting paid to do this, I would have been fired by now. It's been a crazy summer at our house. Marty's dad, Clare, went in for surgery in June and ended up spending 10 or so weeks in the hospital. After several bouts with pneumonia, staff infection, blood clots in his lungs and legs, being paralyzed after surgery......he asked to go home to die. So on Thursday, September 2, 2010, Marty lost his dad.

It's been an interesting journey since his death. Two different faiths coming together to plan a funeral was interesting to say the least. It all worked out in the end, and it was a beautiful tribute to Clare. He had more friends in this world than I could have ever imagined. People from all walks of life came to his viewing, each with their own story to tell. I learned alot that night about my father-in-law. As gruff as he was, everybody loved that cowboy. He was the real deal. :)

If I ever locate my camera, I'll attach some pictures.......

Juab County 4-H Sweetheart 2010

Here's Lyndsey! She is the Sweetheart for Juab county 2010! I got some pretty sweet pictures of her getting ready to ride thru the horse parade on Thursday. Her dad was "trying" to help her with her horse, and she let him know in no uncertain terms that she didn't need help! Me on the other hand....feel free to help me anytime you want! Especially when it comes to saddling a horse, or you might find me hanging on for dear life underneath his belly!!!!

Way to go Lyndsey!

I'm alive!!!!

Whew! Back from Youth Conference with the 6th Ward, and we had a great time! It's a good thing my mom made me take swimming lessons when I was little! We had the wildest river run this past week! Our boat was deemed "The Clampetts". By no means were we skilled in the rowing department! More than once we ended up on a rock.....clear out of the water...sitting in the raft laughing our butts off. After a bunch of good bounces....off we went...to the next rock!

We actually wrapped our raft around one rock, and because we were laughing hysterically, we were unable to help one of our "Clampett" family members back in the raft! The poor kid was flailing around in the water, waving his arms like crazy, and with tears in his eyes...he told us he was drowning. Well of course we were to busy laughing to be able to lend a helping hand....that's when Marty told him to stand up! He stood up, and miraculously he was fine! The water hit him right above his swimming suit.....so of course we broke out laughing again!

Several of the girls on our raft admitted to wetting their pants......not from fear....from laughter! No pictures were taken that day to back up the fun that was had. We had a water proof camera on our raft...but the gal that was in charge of it was "white knuckling" it all the way down the river, and would NOT let go of the sides of the raft to do any picture taking!!!! What a riot!

We drove the Bishop crazy...some of the leaders drove me crazy...and we had a few tents tipped on the last night with caused a lot of excitement!

Great memories were made.....but not a lot of pictures were taken. I had the time of my life.....and sleeping in a tent for three days DID NOT KILL ME! I must be tougher than I thought.

Febreze House party!!!!

On Monday June 28th, I hosted my first house party! Febreze was kind enough to send the "party favors" and I just supplied the games and luncheon! I had a great turn out and we had alot of fun! I've put in for other house parties, so we'll have to see what happens! Enjoy the pictures!

Busted!!!

I had the Young Women and leaders over last night for a bbq...if you call heating hot dogs up on the bbq and actual bbq...anyway....a couple of the leaders found out I have a blog...and now I'm going to update! Don't want them getting the idea that I'm a slacker!

It's been just less than two weeks since we were at girls camp. I'm finally getting around to posting a picture!

This afternoon Lyndsey has a 4-H horse show. I'm excited to see how she does! It's the multi-county show so it's a little more intense than usual! She's out washing up the pony while I'm shaded up inside! I think this is how is was intended to be! The kids are working and mom is playing on the computer!!!!!!! I'm likin' this idea!

Girls Camp 2010!

Holy cow! It's time for Girls camp and it was winter just yesterday! This weather has been CRAZY! Jace and Lyndsey both head for Idaho for FFA Leadership early Wednesday morning. This summer has been a whirlwind so far! There's been something just about everyday! Hopefully I won't be to lazy to post pictures of some of our summer activities! It just seems like a chore to pull out the camera and plug it in and upload pictures to the blog. I suppose if I'm that lazy, I shouldn't be blogging! Oh well....what ya gonna do? I'm off to cook dinner!

Slacker!

It has been one wild and crazy month...or more.... since I posted on the blog spot. Tons of great things have happened....but I'm to lazy to add pictures!

Jace is now the Juab High Schools FFA President...after weeks of preparation, interviews, early mornings, and a bunch of other stuff.....he came out victorious! Go Jace!

Also elected to officer of Photographer is Lyndsey! She is so excited! (and so am I). She beat out several Juniors (next years Seniors) to secure the spot! Way to go!

Jace also brought a letter home yesterday saying that he was chosen as Juab High Schools Ag. Sterling Scholar! Sounds like we have an extremely busy year coming up!

Lyndsey is trying out for 4-H Sweetheart next week. I'm sure I won't find time to post between now and then.....but hopefully pictures will be included on the next post! Who wants to read just text? Not me! I like photos!

She's here!

My new niece arrived on Monday, April 5, 2010! She's such a cute little fart! She has a head full of black hair...not to mention there's hair clear down her back! I suppose this means she has to "molt" like a baby bird!

All is well with both her and mom. I'm to lazy to down load a picture of her. It's Spring Break, and I have taken that literally. I don't want to do anything!

Thankfully Josh mowed my lawn after he got home from work today. I've been out and "LOOKED" at the mower several times today....I just couldn't make myself get on and start it!

Hopefully we're done with the snow, and soon Spring Break will be over, and I'll get back in the swing of things.....but right now, I'm enjoying my spring BREAK!

Jace's Prom!!!

I'm such a good blogger! I can usually post about once every 6 weeks! Actually this month has been a really busy one. Got the Missionary home safe and sound, had the homecoming, and now.....drum roll please......Jace's Prom.

He and his friends all decided on white tuxes. He wasn't to impressed with the idea initially, but, they all looked very daper in their white tuxes! He took Amanda, his friend of like....forever, and they had the best time.

He got talked into renting a limo, which he wasn't sold on the idea at first, but when your group is the only one to roll up to the Prom in a limo...well, that makes people's heads turn, and suddenly you are just the paparazzi short of being a celebrity!

They were such a cute group, and had the best time. I only have one more Prom to attend......2 more years and Marty and Lyndsey will be tearin' up the dance floor!

First signs of spring!

I've been out weeding in my flower beds today...and I can't help but wonder why the first green things in my yard are always weeds? I suppose I shouldn't complain...at least it's not snowing! Happy Spring!

He's Home!

Wow! What a slacker I am! Josh has been home a whole week and I haven't had time to post about it on the blog! Actually, I'm going to blame it on vying for computer time! With one more wanting the computer....who knows when I'll get around to posting!

It's pretty quiet right now....Jace and Lyndsey are in Cedar City. Lyndsey is competing at state FFA in the Creed contest, and Jace is getting his State FFA degree. Yah...I'm a happy little mom!

Before I log off I must post some pictures of Josh returning to the Salt Lake International Airport on March 4, 2010! We drove to the airport under somewhat scary conditions! The weather had been nice all week...then BAM! We were hit with a horrible snow storm that started about 12:00 on Thursday. There was no keeping us home on that night! We'd waited to years and had the welcome home signs all made...and we were ready!

The most touching picture is probably the one where Josh is hugging Lyndsey. We sort of had a hard time getting hugs out of him.....but we tried! I suppose he still felt a little awkward...so all is forgiven!

Mr. FFA Lives here!

Jace was crowned Mr. FFA this week after a grueling week of competition. He and JaBoe Garrett will be the reigning Mr. and Ms. FFA for the 2010 school year!

Good job to Lyndsey and Landon too! They were fabulous! And their cake was cuter than heck! Watch out next year! These two will be out for blood!!! :)

Caribbean Cruise 2010

I'm back! Looks like you guys saved the crappy weather for me! Thanks! I had a fabulous time in the Caribbean. I was even in the West Indies....that's where my missionary is! No....I didn't see him. We were on totally different islands, but it did my heart good to think I was a mere 300 or so miles from him.

I went in a semi-submersible submarine off the coast of Aruba. Love that island! The license plates on the cars there read "One Happy Island" and I could see why! I can't believe the difference between the drivers in the islands and the drivers in the states. When they use their horns and fingers....they are saying , "No, really, you go first, and how are you neighbor?" When we use our horns....it means something totally different. More like. "How can you be such an idiot? You just cut me off you jerk!" And we also use a different finger....if you know what I mean! :)

We went whale watching in Dominica. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT ISLAND! It's one of the prettiest places I've been! We scored on the Whale watching! We saw three different kinds of whales, and one of them was a humpback whale on it's way to the Dominican Republic to give birth! I'm posting pictures to prove it! It was the most awesome day of the whole cruise!

The food was good, and we had great company! We couldn't have asked for better weather. Our flights were on time and sometimes we got in a little early! The red-eye kicked my butt....but hey! I made it!

Did I mention we're down to 11 days until we have a full nest again? I can't wait! I need to start planning a homecoming party!!!!!

Warm weather...here I come!

I can't believe it! My cruise has snuck right up on me! I've spent all day doing laundry....and trying to dig out the summer clothes! It will be so nice to get away! I feel bad leaving Jace and Lyndsey behind.....but hey! I'm sure they won't take me along after they get married, and someone needs to feed the cows! Kidding! I wished they were going. I told them when I was rich and famous...they could go.

It's going to be busy around here the next little while! Marty and I will be on a plane headed for JFK tomorrow night at this time. Jace will have already taken the ACT test, and Lyndsey will be babysitting!

We are now just 26 days away from Elder Palmer's arrival home! I can't wait to see that kid! I know he's grown several more inches, and lost quite a bit of weight since I dropped him off at the MTC 2 years ago. Where did the time go? I can hardly believe I will be doing the "curb side drop off" in another two years. Why did they have to get big so fast? And when I say big, I mean literally! Josh is 6'4 or 6'5 now, and Jace is already 6'0. Lyndsey and I see eye to eye right now. That won't last long.

I'll try to post pictures of the beautiful Caribbean when I return!

Movin right along!

Man I can't believe January is almost over! The next few months are going to be crazy around here! In two weeks Marty and I will be on a cruise to the Southern Caribbean with a group of friends! I'm so excited I can't stand myself!

We got together last night and started planning our excursions......it sounds like I may be in a glass bottom boat off the coast of Aruba in about two weeks, then onto some whale watching in the Dominica..(if I get my way) and Marty is a die-hard para-sailer! His vote is to do that again. The last time we tried that, we went tandum, and he was flailing around 260 feet up in the air and somehow spun me completly around until I was face to face with him! That's a little scary! The dudes on the boat even had a small freak-out session because they couldn't bring us back in until I had turned around! Kind of hard to do when your swinging 260 feet in the air, and your partner is doing all kinds of funky things with his feet, and your kind of freaked out because all you can see is your partner, and you know they are going to "dip" you in the water, because your husband asked them to!

But don't fret! I got turned around in time to see they were "dipping" me into a school of fish! Of all places! Two bad things about that deal. #1. I hate dirty water. #2. I hate fish worse than dirty water...and lets make that three things....#3. the dipping was clear up to my chin! So much for a dip!

We are on the count down until Josh arrives! 39 day! I can't wait! :) Busy, busy.....but I love it!

Happy 2010!

That's going to be weird writing 2010 for the first 6 months!

Marty and I had a fun evening playing games, and EATING with friends from Mona last night. I must not be as old as I feel.....I made it to midnight....and then some!

Jace and Lyndsey had the house to themselves.....sort of. There were approximately 17 teenagers that converged on our house last night for a little New Years Eve get together of their own.

The dudes are still downstairs sleeping....and it's 11:30 a.m.! I still haven't been down there to witness the aftermath. Probably best if I don't!

We got Josh's flight plans this morning. He will be arriving in Salt Lake City on the evening of March 4th after spending over 11 hours in the air! I don't know why the airlines complicate things so, but he has to fly to JFK in New York before heading for his beloved state of Utah. No wonder plane tickets costs so much!

Anyways.....wish me luck when I finally get to go downstairs! And wish Jace luck as well! I'm sure there will be an afternoon of cleaning on his agenda!

Happy 2010! I hope it's a great one! :)
